WRAP – Wellness Recovery Action Plan is Coming to Park Ridge

 WRAP is an 8 week class to develop plans for daily living.  It was created by Mary Ellen Copeland, PhD, while she was working on mental health recovery.  WRAP-Wellness Recovery Action Plan focuses on learning to maintain wellness and recovery.

Create your own individual Wellness Toolbox filled with simple, safe ideas to help you stay well even when the going is difficult. Create an action plan for: Daily Maintenance, Triggers, Early Warning Signs and a Crisis Plan.

You will learn tools, skills, techniques and strategies to put a WRAP plan together that works for you.

Adults 18 and over are encouraged to participate. People with any and all types of mental health challenges are welcome.

Wednesday Evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 pm,

We invite all Family to Family© Graduates to our
Family Refresher Workshop – only four weeks long!

  • When you started your F2F class, you may have been in crisis and found that processing all the class material was difficult. This class may offer an improved learning experience for you.
  • Get a refresher on the useful information from your Family to Family classes.
  • Improve your communication and problem solving skills.
  • The class will REVIEW empathy, problem solving, communication, dealing with crises, coping with anger and guilt. Plus, it will offer the support of being with other F2F graduates, just like you.
  • Hear steps that worked for families and some success stories

Fall 2017

Four Tuesday evenings, Oct 10, 17, 24, and Nov 7th, (off Oct 31) –   7:00-9:30 pm, at Holy Family of Nazareth, 310 N. River Rd, Des Plaines.

Do You Have a Child
with Emotional or Behavioral Difficulties?

NAMI Basics for Parents Class provides Education and Support for You, Your Family, and Your Child

FREE, six week course offered for parents or family caregivers of school-age children and adolescents with mental health issues.

Classes include:

Understanding the illnesses that are causing the behavioral difficulties
The biology of mental illness; getting an accurate diagnosis—, anxiety disorders, depression, ADD, ODD, OCD, childhood bipolar disorder, and others
Tools for the toolbox – communication skills, problem solving, crisis preparation, handling challenging behaviors, and the impact on family members
Record keeping and dealing with the systems your child is involved in school, mental health, and juvenile justice
Taught by trained teachers who are also the parents of children with emotional or behavioral difficulties

Offered Spring 2017– Park Ridge
